Puerto Rican food for Bethlehem.

How far is El Punto from Bethlehem?

About 6 miles, or a 15-minute drive west on Tilghman Street from downtown Bethlehem. From Main Street, take Bethlehem Pike west, merge onto Hanover Avenue, then turn onto Tilghman St. El Punto is on the south side at 410 W Tilghman.

Why do Bethlehem locals drive to Allentown for a sandwich?

Because Bethlehem doesn't have a Puerto Rican sandwichera with Italian bread and a 22-year tripleta tradition. For Boricua food in the Lehigh Valley, El Punto is the destination. Reviewers driving in from Bethlehem regularly note the trip is worth it: warm Italian bread, three meats stacked, and fresh fruit juices that taste like Puerto Rico.

Pickup or delivery to Bethlehem?

Both work. Cash App pickup keeps the order at menu price and takes a 15-minute drive each way; delivery via DoorDash, Uber Eats, or Grubhub adds service fees but eliminates the trip. For groups or catering, pickup is the better bet. Order on the way out of Bethlehem and the bag is ready when you arrive.

• Pickup via Cash App: cash.app/order/$elpuntosandwichera
• DoorDash: Delivers to most of Bethlehem
• Uber Eats: Standard Uber Eats coverage
• Grubhub: Standard Grubhub coverage

What to order on a first Bethlehem run

For a 6-mile drive, you want sandwiches that hold heat and travel well. Our pickleball pick: Tripleta plus a parcha juice. The Tripleta wraps tightly, the bread keeps the meats warm, and the parcha holds against ice for the drive.

• Tripleta — the regional classic
• Cubano — pressed, holds heat well
• Mar y Tierra — splurge order, surf-and-turf
