Serving the Lehigh Valley
Puerto Rican food in the Lehigh Valley.
El Punto Sandwichera is the Lehigh Valley's family-owned Puerto Rican sandwichera, serving authentic Boricua food from 410 W Tilghman St in Allentown since 2003. Twenty-plus years, one family, one menu. The Tripleta is the signature; the Mar y Tierra brings the surf-and-turf; the fresh juices come out of the kitchen every morning.
Where does El Punto serve in the Lehigh Valley?
El Punto serves all five Lehigh Valley anchor cities: Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Whitehall, and Reading. Walk-in customers and pickup orders come from across the region. Drive times from the major hubs:
- Bethlehem: 6 mi drive
- Easton: 15 mi drive
- Reading: 32 mi drive
- Quakertown: 17 mi drive
- Whitehall: 4 mi drive
Plus delivery via DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub for anywhere within their delivery zones around Allentown.
Why drive across the Lehigh Valley for a sandwich?
Because there's nothing else like authentic Puerto Rican bread in the region. Italian bread — soft, slightly sweet, enriched — is the foundation of a real Boricua sandwich. It can't be substituted with a hoagie roll, a Cuban loaf, or a sub bun. El Punto presses pan sobao every day from a Boricua-style baker. That's the taste reviewers describe as “bringing me back to the sandwicheras in Puerto Rico.”
What do you order on a first visit?
Start with the Tripleta — chicken, pork, ham — and a fresh parcha (passion fruit) juice. That's the El Punto introduction. Returning customers graduate to the Mar y Tierra (steak and shrimp) or the Bistrami (steak and pastrami). For a smaller meal, a Jamón y Queso plus shoestring potatoes runs under $12.
